CASIS Symposium: The Islamic State: The New Template for Terrorism

The Canadian Association for Security and Intelligence Studies (CASIS) is a nonpartisan, voluntary organization established in 1985. Its purpose is to provide informed debate in Canada on security and intelligence issues.

The 2016 symposium will look at ISIS as a terrorist organization, its regional impact, ISIS terror and communications strategies, and ISIS in Canada. Lead speakers will be Commissioner Bob Paulson, RCMP (John Tait Memorial Lecture), and Magnus Ranstorp, National Defence College Sweden on “ISIS after Paris”. Also featured are Phil Gurski, Amarnath Amarasigam, Benjamin Ducol, Alex Babaris, Barak Mendelsohn, Aisha Ahmed and Jean-François Ratelle.
