The Canadian Network for Research on Terrorism, Security and Society  (TSAS) and  The Canadian Graduate Journal of Sociology and Criminology (CGJSC) have received a plethora of proposals for articles for the special issue of the Canadian Graduate Journal of Sociology and Criminology related to TSAS’s research areas of terrorism, security, and society. The call for proposals is now closed. Thank you to all those who applied. We will be contacting successful applicants shortly.

CGJSC is a peer-reviewed, open-access, bilingual and online journal hosted by the department of Sociology and Legal Studies at the University of Waterloo. Created by doctoral students, it is intended as a journal for graduate students and post-doctorate fellows. CGJSC is committed to working with the academic community at large in order to enhance graduate student development. The aim of CGJSC is to extend intellectual boundaries by providing students with a setting to share new and innovative research ideas and by providing networking opportunities for students across Canada.

The guest editor for this special TSAS issue is Dr. Aurélie Campana, associate professor of Political Science at Université Laval. Dr. Campana has published extensively on terrorism, nationalism, and identity conflicts in both English and French. In addition to her role as affiliated senior researcher with TSAS, she currently holds the Canada Research Chair in conflicts and terrorism.

The deadline to submit full papers is February, 20, 2013. A paper submitted after this date will not be considered for publication in this special issue.

Up to six honoraria of $500 will be offered by TSAS to authors of accepted articles after publication of the issue. Accepted publications will also be posted on the TSAS website.

Papers should not exceed 6000 words, including references. Authors’ guidelines are available at http://www.cgjsc-rcessc.uwaterloo.ca/index.php/cgjsc/about/submissions.
